Yahdon Israel is a cultural strategist whose work creates the conditions in which every home has a personal library.

A former senior editor at Simon & Schuster, where he acquired, edited, and published over twenty titles, Israel has built a career around understanding how books move from the communities who make them to the communities who buy and read them.

He is the founder of The Compound Collective, a cultural strategy agency, and the School of Cultural Stewardship, where he develops and teaches the strategies, relationships, and infrastructure necessary to sustain cultural transformation.

At the center of this work is a commitment to ensuring that the cultural life of a book extends beyond its sale and into the lives of the people who own it.
